With “Land of Fey” we want to show the power that comes from embracing change by telling the story of a young girl that needs to adapt to her surroundings and enemies in order to survive her escape. This is achieved by providing the opportunity to gain different abilities throughout the game that help the player in their escape and reflect Elara’s determination to escape, even by becoming more like her captors.
The Game
„Land of Fey“ is a third-person metroidvania-inspired action game developed for PC using Unreal Engine 5. The overall playtime is around 15-30 minutes.
The game takes place in a large, overgrown castle inhabited by dangerous fey. The player takes on the role of Elara, a young girl who has been imprisoned in the castle for many years. After an accident, she is finally able to free herself from the spells clouding her mind and sets out on a quest for freedom and revenge. For this the player needs to explore the castle and engage in combat with the Fey that bind Elara to this place. To grow stronger, Elara can also eat from the fruits worshipped by the Fey.
