Dandelion is a 2D story-based game created with the Unity Engine that plays in the mind
of a 10-year-old boy called Joey.
When his grandpa suffers an unfortunate accident, Joey’s whole world gets turned upside
down. Until that summer he lived in a small apartment with his mother and went to school with his friends some of who he knew his whole life. But due to the circumstances of grandpa moving into a nursing home, Joey’s mother decides to move into grandpa’s old
house to keep it running.
From there on Joey has to deal with a lot of struggles, always receiving helpful advice from his „grandpops“, who is more like a father figure for him. Unfortunately, almost one year later in spring, his grandpa dies and Joey seems to be alone on his way to find light in this dark situation. – Or is he?
The simplicity aspect of this game lays in its setting – one single room, that is both:
grandpa’s old study and Joeys new room. So if the space is limited, what if time was
accessible?
The player accompanies Joey on a journey through his memories manifested in a dream.
By clicking on and reading letters from grandpa, the player is able to experience Joeys
story and at the same time help Joey find the light.
