Can’t Remember Can’t Forget is a roughly 15 minutes long story demo for PC. By story demo, I imply that there is only the first part of the gameplay implemented, while the story is already playable. It is supposed to be for anyone who enjoys story-driven games and any age above 12 since some themes might be a little disturbing.
The game is about a family who has been cursed for a long time, by being able to hear some sort of whispering, which affects everyone differently. The reason why you, the player is here is that the mother in the present time is desperate to help her daughter, a young girl who is refusing to take her medicine and will die soon if not convinced otherwise and called you for help. The goal is to break the curse and save the daughter.
You can play through four different time zones, the present time and three zones all 30 years apart from one another. The travel brings you across the decades and family’s origins in the victorian UK in order to find out what or who cursed the family and free them from their struggles.
The overall vision and original idea were to create a mystery all around narrative, story, and time travel which is told over several decades. This means the gameplay is less important than the story told and minor for the realization of the game.
