With a background in Media Management from RheinMain University, Jan co-founded Deck13 in 2001, which has since grown to a team of around 100 talented developers. He has led approximately two dozen successful video game projects, several of which have received prestigious awards, including “Best German Game.”

In 2015, Jan expanded his vision by founding the indie game publisher Spotlight, which has launched popular titles like Chained Echoes, partnering with innovative young development teams. Jan is a familiar face in the German gaming community, frequently serving as a jury member for national developer and gaming awards and, since 2024, as a regional representative of the Game Association in Hessen.
